Laptop Review Blog has teamed up with Amazon.com to bring these laptops to you at unbeatable prices. Be sure to look at the "REAL" cutomer reviews associated with ewach laptop.

I don’t think I will be taking it with me to every class, but maybe to the library and of course the dorm and back home. So, what is the best size for me? Should I get something thin and light? Wouldn’t a bigger screen size make it easier on the eyes? Also, the laptop will act as both a laptop and desktop for me since I wont’ be at home. What are the basic features that I would need in a laptop?

    15. 4″ gets into most bags and is still big enough for almost any application, game and also for watching movies.
Now the question becomes which brand to go with. While there is no one answer, I would recommend you to check out ProCompare. com (http://procompare. com/top/notebooks). They have a recommendation engine that ranks laptops and other tech products based on ratings and reviews from a community of trusted IT professionals. They also have a cool personalization slider that lets you personalize the results based on the criteria that are most important to YOU.
Hope you find this answer useful. . .

Most students just bring their laptop to class to play online games, chat on AIM, or read Web cartoons. Certainly not for work, at least until graduate seminars. But, since you plain to use this as your main computer, you’re right to think about screen size. Perhaps the best compromise would be a netbook with a hard disk, a 22-24″ LCD monitor you use for both your computer and as a TV, plus an external keyboard and mouse on your desk. Extreme portability, but without the sacrifices once you get back to your dormitory.

I also am looking for a computer for college and my brother currently has a 15. 4″ and I am looking for the same size. It’s not too big, not too small and is very portable. It would be your best bet, while the 14. 1″ aren’t too shabby either. It would be more based on the computer itself but those two are great sizes.

    15. 4″ screen would be ideal
    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T6600 (2. 20GHz)
3GB Ram at least if you are getting Windows Vista
    250GB Hard Drive
    DVD Burner
Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 – this would do unless you are into games or grahpics which are rather intensive then you can opt for ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 or NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT
Wireless – this is most important

    15. 4″ or smaller is good
Dual Core Pentium T3200 or AMD Turion TK-57 or higher
    2GB RAM or higher
ATi X1250 or nVidia 8200M or higher
Any hard drive these days will do
    Wireless LAN
Get Microsoft Office or OpenOffice from http://www. openoffice. org

I would recommend a 13″ laptop, such as the Dell XPS M1330. Great specs.
