I’ve never had any problems before with my laptop connecting to my home network but recently, whenever i turn my laptop on and it goes to my desktop the connection says “Limited connection”. Do you think that User Account Control (UAC) affects this? Because it only occured to me days after i turned off my UAC. Anyone knows why and how do i fix this? I can still connect to my network but i have to diagnose and repair it EVERYTIME. Thanks for the help.

You might want to see what happens when you first start to connect by clicking on the networking icon in the taskbar and going to network and sharing center, from there, click view status and then click on details, that will give you ip address information as well as tell you if you are getting a default gateway on the first hop and also see if you are hitting the interweb.
The next step would be to see how many networks are in your local area, if you are like me in an apartment, you will notice a lot of different WiFiers in the area, and may just need to change the channel of your router, which you should look up on how to do in your router’s manual
Next, do a malwarebyte’s anti-malware scan for little creepy bugs and startup problems you may have. Could be something messing with winsock, could be a tracker cookie telling tales to it’s momma about you.
Finally, no, UAC will not mess with internet connecting if it is turned off, it would mess with you if you are trying to connect to other sites you have not connected to before if it were on.

Better run an anti spyware scanner just to prevent malwares to invade your computer.
