I am a college student looking for a laptop with good wireless internet connection and a decent battery life. I would mainly use the laptop for Internet and Word documents. I want a reasonable price and don’t really need that many bells and whistles.

I will be taking a long flight very soon and I intend to use my laptop to play music for the longest portion of time I can. Other than turning all settings to the lowest possible to run music, and having the laptop shut, how can I squeeze the laptop for a maximum 9 hours? It would be opened once, started to play and shut/forgotten.

My wife has a photography business. Until now she has been editing her photos on our home computer but recently we have decided to get a laptop for the business. She wants it to have photoshop as well as the ability to download pictures fast. We would like to also see if there is an option to add a card reader to the laptop. I am a high school student in search of a laptop. I’ve seen many laptops in ads for best buy and other stores that are under $1000. Some of them are as low as $600. I was wondering, for my purposes, would one of these laptops be good enough? Also, in 2 years when I go to college, will this laptop still be good enough? Finally, I was hoping to find a colored laptop, preferably red. The only one I’ve really seen so far is the sony vaio, which is way out of my price range. Any suggestions?
