I currently have a HP Pavilion laptop running on Windows XP and I want to use the internet through an ethernet cord for a faster connection. The wireless internet works just fine, but when I connect one end of the ethernet cord in the router and the other in my laptop, my internet suddenly stops working. How do I enable a wired internet connection on my laptop?

I have a desktop that is Windows XP connected to a Kodak All in One printer, ESP 5. I have a HP laptop that runs Windows Vista. I have a wireless router from my phone company that I allows me to connect to the internet on both computers. So how can I get my laptop to print to my printer? Or do I need to break down and buy another wireless router?

I want to connect my laptop to the tv. I need specific instructions on how to configure my laptop. I have an s video cable, and my laptop is a HP Pavilion with Windows XP. I am using a 4 pin S Video cable. The laptop has a 7 pin S Video jack. Does that affect it?

I have a linksys router connected to a desktop computer through an ethernet cable and my laptop connects to the router wirelessly. I am trying to figure out how to set it up so I can use the printer that is connected to the desktop through my laptop. I know you need to set up a network on the desktop and connect to it through the laptop, but I can’t figure it out. I have an emachines computer and a Toshiba vista laptop.

My laptop has wifi but Im only picking a couple locked networks from neighbors. I’ve been told that I don’t have wireless internet here at the house so my laptop wont pick it up. I use an embarq router. Is there anyway i can get my laptop to connect to the embarq network here at my house?

I have an older laptop running Windows 98, a Linksys wireless PC card and a D-Link wireless router. The card works with my laptop just fine, and even connects to the internet very easily, but only if the router is in its default unencrypted state. I recently set the router to use 64 bit WEP encryption with a HEX key. My XP desktop has no problem with this, but I can’t figure out how to make my laptop connect to the encrypted network.

I’ve never had any problems before with my laptop connecting to my home network but recently, whenever i turn my laptop on and it goes to my desktop the connection says “Limited connection”. Do you think that User Account Control (UAC) affects this? Because it only occured to me days after i turned off my UAC. Anyone knows why and how do i fix this? I can still connect to my network but i have to diagnose and repair it EVERYTIME. Thanks for the help.

I have a new wireless printer. I connected it fine to my laptop at home running Vista, but can’t get it to connect to the laptop in the office running Windows XP. I connect to the internet via a Three dongle, and don’t have a router in the office.
So 2 questions really – is it possible to connect my XP-laptop to the printer – and if so – how?

I want to connect my laptop to internet, but the problem is that i don’t get any wireless reception (Wi-Fi) in my area and I can’t create my own wi-fi network. HOw else can i connect my laptop to internet? I am willing to spend about $15/month. PLease don’t recommend any wired connection because i want mobility.
